Description

Bristol CBT Clinic – Specialist Therapy for Young People

About

At Bristol CBT Clinic, we specialise in providing high-quality, evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for children, teenagers, and young adults up to the age of 25. Our mission is to support young people as they navigate emotional and psychological challenges that, if left unaddressed, can significantly affect daily life and overall wellbeing.

Many young people today struggle with low mood, anxiety, panic, or persistent worries. These issues often become more difficult over time and may impact a person’s confidence, academic performance, friendships, and family relationships. By seeking early and appropriate intervention, young individuals can build resilience, emotional regulation, and long-term coping skills.

We understand that reaching out can feel daunting. That’s why we offer a compassionate, approachable service, tailored to each client’s needs. Our therapists are highly trained and committed to using approaches that are both clinically effective and individually empowering.

Services

CBT for Anxiety Disorders

We provide targeted CBT for a wide range of anxiety-related conditions, including:

  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder (GAD)

  • Social Phobia

  • Panic Attacks

  • Separation Anxiety

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

CBT helps young people identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts and behaviours, while developing strategies to reduce anxiety and regain control.

CBT for Low Mood and Depression

Low self-esteem, persistent sadness, and a lack of motivation can hold young people back. CBT offers practical tools and emotional insight, helping them build confidence and shift negative thinking patterns. It is a widely recommended approach for depression, low self-worth, and loss of motivation.

CBT for OCD and Other Conditions

CBT has shown strong effectiveness for treating Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). We also support young people experiencing:

  • Eating Difficulties

  • Anger Management Issues

  • Sleep Disruptions

  • Body Image Concerns

  • Health Anxiety

  • Adjustment to Physical Health Conditions

How to Get Help

We’ve designed a clear and supportive pathway for young people and their families:

1. Free Telephone Consultation

We offer a free, no-obligation 10-minute consultation. This gives young people or their parents an opportunity to ask questions and see if our service feels like the right fit.

2. Initial Assessment

The first appointment lasts 60–75 minutes. During this session, we explore the presenting issues and work together to create a personalised treatment plan with clear, achievable goals.

3. Ongoing CBT Sessions

Therapy sessions last 50 minutes and are typically scheduled weekly or fortnightly. Since CBT is a structured and time-limited therapy, most clients require between 6 and 20 sessions depending on individual needs.
