Caroline Parker is a retired psychotherapist and counsellor with years of experience. She moved her practice from Berkshire to West Sussex in 2001, where she helped individuals tackle a variety of emotional and psychological issues. Caroline no longer offers psychotherapy, but her legacy remains strong within the mental health community.
Caroline worked with individuals who wanted to understand themselves better or heal from past trauma. She also helped those who struggled with severe mental distress. She had particular expertise in working with people dealing with complex emotional histories, including those who had suffered disrupted early attachment relationships.
From 2003 to 2007, Caroline taught Attachment Theory to psychotherapy students at the Bowlby Centre. She also served as the Centre’s treasurer from 2004 to 2010, contributing significantly to its growth. Her work continues to influence the field of psychotherapy.
Caroline offered various therapeutic services tailored to individual needs. She provided:
Short-term therapy to address specific current concerns
Medium-term therapy to explore broader issues
Long-term psychotherapy to address deep-rooted trauma
Caroline created a safe and supportive environment for her clients. She helped them overcome emotional barriers and find their way to healing. She specialised in supporting individuals who had experienced early trauma or significant emotional challenges.
Before becoming a psychotherapist, Caroline worked in private and public sector organisations. This gave her valuable insight into the challenges that people face in both professional and personal settings. Her broad experience helped her connect with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Though Caroline is now retired, her work remains influential. Many individuals have benefitted from her therapeutic approach, and her contributions continue to inspire both practitioners and students in the field. Her impact on the psychotherapy community in Chichester and beyond is immeasurable.
