Description

Celia Mutti Physiotherapy – Expert Orthopaedic Rehabilitation in Claremont

About Me

With 43 years of experience in the field of physiotherapy, I, Celia Mutti, am committed to providing professional, evidence-based care to patients in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. I graduated from the University of Cape Town in 1980 with a BSc in Physiotherapy, followed by completing my MSc in Orthopaedics at Stellenbosch University in 2005.

For 36 years, I ran my own practice, Celia Smith & Associates, in Cape Town, and now, I am continuing my passion for physiotherapy under the name Celia Mutti Physiotherapy. I currently offer part-time services in Claremont and also have treatment facilities in Noordhoek.

My expertise is in orthopaedic physiotherapy, focusing on rehabilitation and the correction of biomechanical deficiencies. I aim to empower my patients to recover from injuries, enhance mobility, and alleviate pain through specialised treatments tailored to their individual needs.

My Services

I provide a wide range of physiotherapy services, particularly focused on orthopaedic conditions, post-operative rehabilitation, and pain management. Here’s an overview of the treatments I offer:

General Physiotherapy Treatments

I have extensive experience treating a variety of musculoskeletal issues, including:

  • Neck and Back Pain: Targeted therapies for spinal discomfort, whether from poor posture, muscle strain, or chronic conditions.
  • Shoulder, Hip, Knee, and Ankle Pain: Comprehensive treatment plans for joint pain, stiffness, and limited range of motion in these key areas.

Each treatment is individualised to meet the specific needs of the patient. The sessions typically last 45 minutes and combine hands-on therapy with exercise and mobilisation techniques to achieve the best outcomes.

Rehabilitation Services

Rehabilitation is a core component of my practice, ensuring patients return to full function after an injury or surgery. I provide:

  • Post-operative Rehabilitation: For patients recovering from orthopaedic surgeries, such as joint replacements or ligament repairs. This treatment is designed to restore strength, mobility, and function.
  • Pain Management and Recovery: Rehabilitation is not only essential after surgery, but also plays a critical role in managing most types of pain. It includes strengthening exercises, mobility training, and balance work.
