Chantel Walker is a dedicated dietitian with a strong passion for helping clients heal their relationship with food. After graduating from the University of Stellenbosch, I completed my community service year in Sabie, Mpumalanga. I then worked as a locum dietitian at various private practices before establishing my own practice. I specialize in supporting individuals who struggle with disordered eating or have been diagnosed with eating disorders.
In my free time, I enjoy reading books with an economic focus, traveling to new places, and entertaining family and friends. Additionally, I love experimenting with new recipes, drawing inspiration from the diverse locations I have visited around the world.
I offer a compassionate, client-centered approach to help those struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating. My services focus on restoring a healthy relationship with food and supporting individuals as they move toward balanced nutrition. The services I provide include:
Each session is tailored to meet the specific needs of the client, ensuring that they receive the most effective care possible in a supportive and understanding environment.
I currently practice at Optima@RustenVrede, a private psychiatric clinic situated in the tranquil Banhoek Valley, just outside Stellenbosch. The clinic offers comprehensive therapeutic programs for children, adolescents, and adults, specializing in treating a broad range of mental health issues, developmental disorders, and crisis situations.
At Optima, patients are cared for by a multi-disciplinary team, including psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, neuro-psychologists, occupational therapists, dietitians, and physiotherapists. This collaborative approach ensures the most effective treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
The clinic provides a peaceful and healing environment, designed specifically for mental health care. It features three wards: a Children’s Ward, Teen Ward, and Adult Ward, each designed with specialized therapeutic spaces. Patients typically stay for a two-week period, though this can vary depending on individual needs and medical aid benefits.
