Dr Jong graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1997. He moved to the UK for postgraduate training and passed the MRCP exam in 2003. That same year, he started work as a Clinical Research Fellow at Ninewells Hospital in Dundee. There, he contributed to groundbreaking research in photodynamic therapy.

He joined the South Wales Deanery’s dermatology training programme in 2004. Over four years, he trained under top consultants while coordinating a national study on photosensitivity and quality of life. By 2008, he completed his training and earned a place on the specialist register.

Leadership in Skin Cancer Care

From 2016 to 2022, Dr Jong served as the Clinical and Skin Cancer Lead for West Kent Dermatology. He played an active role in multidisciplinary meetings, ensuring patients with high-risk conditions such as melanoma received optimal care. While in Australia, he gained further expertise in treating severe sun damage and aggressive skin cancers.

Commitment to Education and Professional Excellence

In addition to his clinical work, Dr Jong teaches student nurses and contributes to dermatology publications. He co-authored a textbook chapter and regularly presents at major dermatology conferences.
