At Child Bereavement UK, we are dedicated to helping children, young people (up to age 25), parents, and families navigate one of life’s most difficult experiences: grief. Whether a child has died, or a young person is grieving the loss of someone important, we are here to support families in rebuilding their lives.
Since our founding in 1994, we have grown to become a trusted national charity, originally known as the Child Bereavement Trust. Over the past 30 years, we have worked with thousands of families, ensuring that no one has to face bereavement alone. Through education, support, and compassionate guidance, we help individuals and communities find strength, hope, and connection.
Based in Birmingham, our local services offer both in-person and remote support, making our help accessible to families across the region. We are committed to making our services inclusive, accessible, and sensitive to every individual’s background, culture, and circumstance.
At Child Bereavement UK Birmingham, we provide a range of specialised counselling and bereavement support services to children, young people, and families.

Our aim is to build confident, compassionate communities that can support grieving families effectively and sensitively.
We are proud to work in partnership with numerous organisations across the UK, including NHS services, local councils, schools, and voluntary groups. In addition, we have projects across Scotland and the North of England, expanding access to quality bereavement care.
At Child Bereavement UK, equity, diversity, and inclusion are at the core of everything we do. We are committed to treating all our stakeholders with respect, compassion, and fairness.
