Dawn Robson Psychologist Sussex brings over two decades of direct experience as a Registered Chartered Psychologist. She has consistently worked with individuals facing mental health and learning disability challenges. Her extensive background spans secure environments and community-based services. Dawn focuses on clinical assessment and support for both adults and children. She uses evidence-based therapeutic approaches in individual and group therapy settings.
Currently, Dawn provides Clinical Psychology services at a High Dependency CAMHS Unit (PICU). Here, she works with adolescents requiring intensive care and skilled risk assessment. Her clinical interventions adapt to the complex needs of young people in crisis. She has specific training in autism spectrum assessments (ADOS-2), personality and cognitive evaluation, and trauma-focused support.
Moreover, she offers private therapy to adults and children through the Priory Hospital Ticehurst House. Dawn adopts a person-centred approach, tailoring treatments to each individual. She incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), EMDR, narrative therapy, sand tray work, and systemic approaches. These methods target various psychological concerns such as depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, self-harm, and emotional dysregulation.
Dawn specializes in working with individuals exhibiting ASC traits. She helps families understand and manage these presentations through supportive and adaptable strategies. Dawn Robson holds a BA (Hons) in Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Psychology, and a PsychD in Forensic Psychology from the University of Surrey. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate in Forensic Psychology Research at the University of Birmingham. Her training includes the PCL-R, HCR-20, ADOS-2, and numerous accredited courses in narrative therapy, sand play, and EMDR.
Dawn actively engages in clinical research focused on trauma, self-harm, and best practices in inpatient settings. She remains committed to lifelong learning and continuous professional development. As a Chartered Member of the Division of Forensic Psychology and Registered HCPC practitioner, she upholds the highest standards of psychological care.
