Dharmendra Agrawal Consultant Thoracic Surgeon Newcastle brings exceptional expertise in thoracic surgery to patients across the North East. With years of training, international experience, and a proven record in advanced procedures, Mr Agrawal is dedicated to delivering the highest standard of care.
Mr Agrawal began his medical journey at Delhi University, India. After earning his M.Ch. in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, he expanded his expertise in the UK. His advanced surgical training took place in top centres including Cambridge, Leeds, Edinburgh, and Newcastle. He achieved his Specialist Registration through this rigorous path.
Mr Agrawal has held consultant-level posts at the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh and Newcastle. Today, he holds a substantive position as a Consultant Thoracic Surgeon at Freeman Hospital, Newcastle.
Mr Agrawal leads robotic-assisted major lung resections and has completed over 200 robotic thoracic procedures. He is also the trauma lead for cardiothoracic surgery in his department. His contributions extend beyond the operating room into trauma education through regional and national trauma courses.
Additionally, he serves as an Associate Clinical Lecturer at Newcastle University and leads student-selected components (SSC) for cardiothoracic surgery.
