At Dianne Beattie Children’s Physiotherapy, we focus on providing specialist assessment and treatment for children of all ages. We work closely with families to help every child reach their full potential, particularly those with neurological and developmental conditions.
Treatment sessions take place in a carefully designed therapy room. We have created a space that combines therapeutic needs with the comfort of a home environment. By using a mix of specialised equipment and familiar home furniture, we ensure each therapy plan feels natural and easy to follow.
Children are naturally active and curious, which is why our sessions are full of fun and play-based activities. We know that when therapy is enjoyable, children stay motivated and progress more quickly. In addition, we teach families expert handling techniques that fit into daily life, such as dressing, playing, and simple routines. This approach helps children build the repetition needed for learning and development.
We offer expert treatment for children with a range of neurological and developmental conditions. Our services include:
Individual assessments tailored to each child
Fun, motivating therapy sessions
Specialist training for parents and carers
Customised home programmes that fit daily routines
Advice and support to maximise each child’s independence
After the initial assessment, we discuss with families how often sessions should take place. Depending on the child’s needs, treatment may involve intensive therapy blocks, regular weekly input, or occasional monitoring. We always aim to create a plan that works best for the family.
We believe that involving families in the therapy process is crucial. Therefore, we ensure that parents and carers receive clear guidance on how to support their child’s development at home. Simple activities like dressing and playing can provide valuable learning opportunities when supported correctly. With the right techniques, families can help children gain new skills faster and more naturally.
Dianne Beattie holds a BSc (Hons) degree in Physiotherapy and has over 20 years of experience specialising in paediatrics. She has worked at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh, where she gained extensive knowledge across all areas of children’s physiotherapy.
As an Advanced Bobath Trained Therapist, Dianne has specialist skills in early years intervention and neurological therapy. Her broad experience ensures that children receive expert care in a supportive and understanding environment.
We pride ourselves on offering high-quality, compassionate physiotherapy where children feel safe, motivated, and encouraged.
