Dr Adiel Webner General Surgeon Gatesville provides expert surgical care at Melomed Gatesville and Bellville. He brings years of experience and a passion for patient-centered treatment. His expertise spans various general surgical procedures, including both minimally invasive and open surgery techniques.
Dr. Webner grew up in Bonteheuwel and attended Garlandale High School in Athlone. He earned his MBChB at the University of Stellenbosch and later obtained an FCS(SA) qualification from the CMSA. In 2007, he completed a BSc in Medical Bioscience at UWC, specializing in Medical Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology, and Biotechnology.

Dr. Webner began his medical career as an intern at Groote Schuur Hospital. He then completed his community service at Kimberly Hospital, gaining valuable experience in Cardiothoracic Surgery. Subsequently, he worked as a Medical Officer in Surgery at Khayelitsha and Karl Bremer Hospitals before starting his surgical registrarship at Tygerberg Hospital in 2015. In 2021, he completed his MMED in General Surgery and FCS.
In 2020, Dr. Webner served as a Medical Officer (Locum) at the Breast and Endocrine Unit at Tygerberg Hospital. Notably, he was the Head of the Acute Care Surgery Unit at Tygerberg Hospital. In fact, towards the end of his tenure in March 2021, he was appointed as Acting Consultant at the Acute Care Services until August 2021.
Dr. Webner’s journey to becoming a General Surgeon has spanned 21 years. Above all, he chose this path because it offers a holistic approach to patient care. The direct impact he has on his patients’ health is what he finds most rewarding. Now, as a trusted specialist, he continues to perform advanced surgical procedures at Melomed.
