Dr Anita MacNab serves as a Consultant Cardiologist at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, part of the Circle Health Group. With more than two decades of experience in cardiology, she has established herself as a leader in advanced cardiac imaging and patient care. Dr MacNab earned her MBChB from the University of Manchester in 1991, and she attained her MRCP from the Royal College of Physicians (London) in 1994. She began her specialist cardiology training in the Northwest Deanery in 1995 and pursued a Research Fellowship at Wythenshawe Hospital, Manchester. During this fellowship, she focused on developing 3-dimensional echocardiography techniques specifically for mitral valve repair surgery. Consequently, her academic and practical background forms the cornerstone of her clinical approach.

Since 2005, Dr MacNab has consistently worked as a Consultant Cardiologist, leading several key services within her department. In addition, she directs the echocardiography, valve, adult congenital, and rapid access chest pain services. Moreover, she has taken on regional roles such as Imaging Lead for both the Greater Manchester and Cheshire Cardiac Network and the South Sector Partnership of Manchester.
