Dr van Lierop specializes in:
Vocal cord nodules and polyps can significantly impact voice quality. These growths often occur in individuals with high vocal demands, such as singers and teachers. While voice therapy may help, surgery is often necessary to restore vocal function.
Tympanoplasty repairs holes in the eardrum or reconstructs the small bones of the middle ear. These perforations can arise from infections, injuries, or previous medical procedures. If left untreated, a perforated eardrum may lead to chronic discharge or hearing loss. This surgery helps restore hearing and prevents infections.
Tonsillitis causes swollen tonsils, sore throat, fever, and difficulty eating or drinking. While tonsils play a role in immune function, their effectiveness declines after puberty. In cases of recurrent infections, a tonsillectomy is often the best course of action.
