Dr Brodie McGeown Clinical Psychologist Dundee specialises in helping clients of all ages manage emotional challenges. She works closely with adults and young people to create a safe and collaborative environment. With over nine years of experience, Brodie draws on a wide range of therapeutic approaches. Her goal is to support clients in understanding their experiences and developing practical strategies to enhance wellbeing.
Dr Brodie McGeown gained extensive experience working with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, and other mental health difficulties. She also spent time in the third sector, supporting young adults transitioning out of the care system through a national children’s charity. Additionally, her research has explored the mental health of mothers with experience of the care system. Consequently, she combines clinical insight with a deep understanding of vulnerable populations.
Brodie offers therapy exclusively on a remote basis. She believes this flexible approach allows clients to access support conveniently. Initially, Brodie dedicates time to understanding your life experiences and how they shape your view of yourself, others, and the world. She explores your coping strategies, evaluates their effectiveness, and introduces alternative approaches if necessary. Her approach ensures therapy is practical, personalised, and collaborative.
Brodie has completed Masters-level training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and holds a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She has received additional training in Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and CBT for Eating Disorders. Therefore, her practice is integrative. She selects techniques from multiple therapies to tailor treatment to each client’s needs.
Brodie specialises in anxiety disorders, including obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). She also has a strong interest in mental health in motherhood. Through therapy, clients learn to manage distress effectively, build resilience, and engage in meaningful change. Moreover, she prioritises collaborative decision-making, ensuring every step reflects the client’s goals and preferences.
