Meet Dr Ebrahim Patel

Dr Ebrahim Patel, known as “Ebi,” brings a deep passion for endodontic therapy. He believes that the ability to heal is one of the greatest gifts, and he has dedicated himself fully to the science of endodontics. After earning his BDS from Wits University in 2008, he went on to complete an MScDent in Endodontics in 2014, graduating cum laude. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at Wits University while also serving as Head of Preclinical Teaching in Operative Dentistry and Endodontics at the School of Oral Health Sciences.

Dr Patel has received numerous accolades, including the Hugo Retief Award (IADR SA), the South African Dental Association Leadership Medal, and the Golden Key Award for academic excellence. His commitment to education extends beyond the university setting—he regularly trains private dentists through workshops, conferences, and hands-on events. In addition to publishing research locally and internationally, he strongly advocates for South Africa’s potential to provide world-class endodontic treatment.
