Dr. HJD Jeggels began his medical journey at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, earning his MD in 1987. He later completed a Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK (MRCP) in 1992. To expand his knowledge in homoeopathy, he pursued a Compounding and Dispensing Course at the University of Pretoria in 2006. His dedication to the field led to honorary qualifications, including a Fellowship at the British Institute of Homoeopathy in 2007.
Dr. Jeggels is registered as a medical practitioner under MP 0389730 with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. His homoeopathy registration (A 03623) is recognized by the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa. Additionally, he holds a dispensing license (WC02060) from the Department of Health of South Africa. His practice numbers are 1522272 for medical services and 0807605 for homoeopathic treatments.
Dr. Jeggels has played a pivotal role in educating future homoeopaths. Between 1997 and 1998, he instructed B-registered homoeopaths in physical diagnostics and applied homoeopathic therapeutics. His consultation-based clinical teaching, conducted weekly, provided students with hands-on experience. These sessions were accredited as Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities by the South African Medical Association.
In addition to teaching, he has conducted numerous seminars covering a variety of medical topics. His lectures have addressed eczema, rheumatology, diabetes, hypertension, neurology, and cardiopulmonary medicine. His contributions extend to supervising medical students who select homoeopathic therapeutics as their elective.
During his medical training in Amsterdam, Dr. Jeggels was introduced to homoeopathic therapeutics. Initially skeptical, he later revisited homoeopathy after recognizing gaps in conventional medicine. His postgraduate experiences in the UK further emphasized the need for alternative treatment approaches. Observing the limitations of modern medicine in addressing chronic conditions motivated him to explore and integrate homoeopathy into his practice.
Homoeopathy provides a natural and holistic alternative to traditional medicine. Many chronic conditions, often resistant to conventional treatment, respond well to homoeopathic remedies. Dr. Jeggels’ extensive medical background ensures that his patients receive evidence-based care tailored to their needs.
