Dr. Jan Kleynhans is a highly experienced plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Somerset West. He earned his MB.ChB from the University of Pretoria in 1975 and completed his MMed in Plastic Surgery at the University of Cape Town in 1985. He has been in private practice since 1988 and is renowned for his unwavering commitment to surgical excellence, patient safety, and ethical care. After serving as a plastic surgery consultant at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town for two years, he embarked on a six-month study tour across major plastic surgery centres in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Subsequently, he settled in private practice in Pietermaritzburg to pursue his passion for craniofacial surgery. Later, he concentrated on aesthetic surgery, breast reconstruction, and general reconstructive procedures. In 1997, the Rotary Foundation awarded him the Paul Harris fellowship in recognition of his outstanding service in the craniofacial field. Finally, he relocated to Somerset West in 2010, where he now leads a team dedicated to transforming lives through innovative plastic surgery.
