Dr. Johan le Roux is a specialist orthopaedic surgeon based in Cape Town’s Northern Suburbs. He earned his MBChB from Stellenbosch University in 2006 and completed his internship at Pietermaritzburg Hospital Complex. During training, he worked in hospitals in Malawi and the Netherlands. He also pursued a diploma in anaesthetics in East London. Later, his passion for orthopaedics led him to work as an emergency doctor at Life St Dominic’s Hospital and then as a senior medical officer at Frere Hospital. He finished his orthopaedic surgery training at Stellenbosch University and became a Fellow of the College of Orthopaedic Surgeons (FC Ortho) in 2019. In 2020, he furthered his expertise by completing a Specialist Knee Surgery Fellowship at Groote Schuur Hospital. Additionally, he gained valuable experience at The Stellenbosch Knee Clinic. He has published multiple articles on cartilage transplantation and knee ligament biomechanics. Currently, Dr. le Roux is in private practice, focusing on knee, hip, and trauma surgery, and he remains actively involved in orthopaedic research.
