Dr Gupta retired from the NHS in 2021 after a long-standing role as Consultant Psychiatrist at the South London and Maudsley Trust. He also continues in private practice at Nightingale Hospital, where he has worked since 1999. Over the years, he played a crucial role in specialist services such as the South Asian Community Mental Health Service (AMARDEEP) and the Medical Toxicology Clinic at Guy’s and St Thomas’.
His leadership roles included being a treating psychiatrist for the NHS Practitioner Health Programme, where he helped fellow medical professionals navigate mental health challenges.
