Dr Karen Gough GP Leeds UK leads a vibrant, educational practice dedicated to high-quality student healthcare and professional development. Our dual mission focuses on delivering expert care to Leeds’ student population while training the next generation of General Practitioners. Consequently, our team thrives in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
GP Registrars are already qualified doctors with several years of hospital experience. However, they choose to transition into General Practice to build more patient-focused careers. For this reason, our practice offers hands-on, real-world training tailored to their growth.
Moreover, our Registrars gain experience by working alongside senior GPs in daily consultations. In addition, they learn how to manage a wide range of patient concerns within a community setting. As a result, they leave our practice well-equipped and confident.
We are proud to have 21 doctors in our practice—14 female and 7 male—all dedicated to General Practice. Furthermore, our clinicians bring expertise from a variety of specialties, which enhances our quality of care. Likewise, their collaborative mindset supports both patient outcomes and registrar development.
Despite a busy clinical environment, our doctors remain engaged and passionate. Moreover, they value working with a younger demographic and tailor their approach to meet student needs. In contrast to hospital care, our model allows for stronger patient-doctor relationships.
Our practice currently serves over 44,000 students studying and living in Leeds. Consequently, we’ve developed services specifically designed to support young adults. These include both physical and mental health care options designed for accessibility and impact.
In addition to our doctors, we employ over 70 staff members. Their roles include reception, nursing, administration, and care coordination. Furthermore, their daily contributions ensure smooth operations and timely service delivery. As a result, patients experience professional and efficient care at every step.
Although we are one of the largest student practices in the UK, our approach remains personal. For this reason, we invest in both people and systems to ensure every student feels supported and heard.
