Dr Majid Shabbir Urologist London, he specialises in andrology, male infertility, and genito-urethral reconstruction. He is also the Chair of the British Association of Urological Surgeons Section of Andrology & Genito-urethral Reconstruction.
Dr Shabbir earned an MBBS with Distinction from St George’s Hospital Medical School (University of London) in 1997. He completed his Higher Surgical Training in London and Surrey. He also trained in penile cancer and genito-urethral reconstruction at St George’s Hospital. Afterward, he completed a two-year Fellowship Program at The Institute of Urology, University College Hospital, London, focusing on penile cancer, andrology, and genito-urethral reconstruction.
In 2012, Dr Shabbir became a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Lead for Andrology and Genital Reconstruction at Guy’s and St Thomas’. He manages one of the largest tertiary referral practices for andrology in the UK. Dr Shabbir also runs national postgraduate training courses on andrology. He co-founded the AGOUR course for the FRCS (Urol) and regularly serves as a tutor for Male Factor Infertility at institutions like BAUS, the British Fertility Society (BFS), and RCOG.
Dr Majid Shabbir specialises in male infertility and performs advanced procedures like microsurgical vasectomy reversal and microsurgical varicocele ligation. He is also recognised for his treatment of Peyronie’s disease. His expertise extends to reconstructive surgery and treating a range of male reproductive and genitourinary disorders.
Dr Shabbir has published numerous clinical papers on penile cancer and genital reconstruction. He has written nearly 20 book chapters on andrology and penile reconstructive surgery. His research contributions have earned him several prestigious awards, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England Simpson Research Fellowship Grant.
Dr Shabbir regularly speaks at international urological meetings, including those by the European Association of Urology (EAU) and ESHRE. He also serves as an international surgical mentor. In 2019, he became an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at King’s College London. As a Specialist Advisor to the National Institute of Clinical Excellence (NICE), Dr Shabbir influences national urological guidelines. He has been a member of the BAUS Section of Andrology National Executive Committee since 2014.
