Dr Mariza van Wyk Neuropsychologist Sea Point is a multidisciplinary clinical neuropsychologist and sleep scientist dedicated to patient care across all backgrounds. With extensive experience in both private and public healthcare, I provide expert assessments, diagnoses, and psychoeducation for patients, families, and referring clinicians. My clinical journey spans neuropsychology, psychology, sleep medicine, and psychiatry, both locally and internationally. Additionally, my research focuses on posttraumatic stress disorder, depression, anxiety, and sleep disorders, enhancing my ability to provide well-rounded care.
I assess patients from all stages of life, combining clinical training, scientific evidence, and ongoing research. Each patient’s unique journey is considered through thorough assessments, ensuring a personalized approach. My goal is to understand both subjective experiences and objective symptoms to provide tailored diagnoses and management plans. Collaboration with other professionals, including clinical psychologists and psychiatrists, is an essential part of my practice. I run an inclusive practice, welcoming individuals from all backgrounds.
I am registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the Board of Healthcare Funders. My services include diagnostic assessments and psychological support for patients and their families. My practice is wheelchair accessible, and I accept referrals and collaborations from other clinicians. I am contracted with most major medical aids and charge medical aid rates for consultations.

Using clinical interviews, specialized tests, and behavioral observations, I assess conditions such as:
I provide clinical assessments and practical interventions for insomnia and other sleep disorders, incorporating cognitive-behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-i) and other tailored approaches. A detailed history, considering both night-time and daytime factors, helps develop a personalized sleep improvement plan. I work collaboratively with patients rather than prescriptively and integrate polysomnography (sleep studies) results when needed.
