Dr. Mark Deist is a distinguished ophthalmologist at Sandhurst Eye Centre in Sandton. He achieved his medical degree (MBChB) from the University of Cape Town in 1983. Later, he specialized in ophthalmology and obtained his ophthalmic degree from the University of the Witwatersrand in 1993. He has practiced in Johannesburg ever since and developed a strong focus on anterior segment surgery.
