Dr Nisar H Shah Cardiologist Birmingham brings over two decades of experience to the field of cardiology. Since earning his medical degree in 1998, he has followed a focused and determined path. His postgraduate training in General (Internal) Medicine laid a strong foundation. He later specialised in cardiology, gaining hands-on experience at several leading cardiac centres across the UK.
He completed advanced subspecialty training at the University Hospital of Wales in Cardiff. During this time, he concentrated on heart failure and complex implantable cardiac devices. This unique combination of expertise enables him to offer patients thorough, evidence-based care.
He holds prestigious Fellowships from both the College of Physicians and Surgeons (FCPS General Medicine) and the Royal College of Physicians (London). In addition, he holds Membership of the Royal College of Physicians (Ireland). Furthermore, he is certified by the British Heart Rhythm Society (BHRS UK) and the Heart Failure Association of the European Society of Cardiology.
Since August 2019, Dr Shah has worked as a Consultant Cardiologist. He focuses on diagnosing and managing a wide range of conditions. These include heart failure, cardiomyopathies, rhythm disorders, and recurrent blackouts. Moreover, he aims to provide personalised care by combining clinical knowledge with the latest advancements in cardiology.
In addition to his clinical duties, he actively participates in research. He regularly contributes to peer-reviewed journals and stays up to date with evolving techniques. As a result, his patients benefit from cutting-edge care rooted in solid scientific evidence.
Dr Shah offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services. These include ECGs, pacemaker surgery, cardiac rehabilitation, cardiac screening, and CT coronary angiograms. He also provides cardiac resynchronisation therapy, implantable loop recorders, and exercise stress tests. Each service aims to provide clarity and comfort for patients at every step.
