Dr Precious Phatudi is a fellowship-trained Ophthalmologist serving the Soweto community at Soweto Eye Specialists. She earned her MBChB from the University of Limpopo in 2010, then completed a Diploma in Ophthalmology through the Colleges of Medicine of South Africa in 2014. Moreover, she attained her Master of Medicine (Ophthalmology) from the University of the Free State in 2018, and she was awarded FCOphth (SA) fellowship status in 2019.
Subsequently, Dr Phatudi pursued a specialised retina fellowship at a leading Johannesburg eye centre, where she honed advanced skills in intravitreal injections and laser photocoagulation. Consequently, she delivers expert care for complex retinal disorders. Furthermore, she maintains active membership with the Health Professions Council of South Africa and the American Academy of Ophthalmology, therefore ensuring her practice reflects the latest evidence-based guidelines.
Passionate about community outreach, Dr Phatudi volunteers at quarterly vision-screening camps in under-resourced areas. As a result, she broadens access to sight-saving care beyond her clinic. Moreover, her patient-centred philosophy means she explains every diagnosis and treatment option clearly, so that individuals feel supported from the first consultation through recovery.
Dr Phatudi provides a comprehensive suite of diagnostic, medical, and surgical eye treatments, each customised to patient needs:
