About Dr Ricky Rahbeeni

Dr Riyaz (Ricky) Rahbeeni earned his dentistry degree from the University of the Western Cape in 1986. Shortly after graduating, he joined the Department of Restorative Dentistry at UWC as a junior lecturer. Over the years, he advanced to senior lecturer and senior specialist by 2006. During his academic tenure, he contributed significantly to undergraduate and postgraduate education and clinical research.

In 1988, Dr Rahbeeni launched his private dental practice, where he honed his clinical skills. In 2001, driven by his passion for prosthodontics, he pursued his MChD specialisation in the field. He continued working in academia while maintaining a limited private practice. By 2006, he transitioned into full-time private practice as a Specialist Prosthodontist while still serving as a part-time clinical consultant at UWC.

Dr Rahbeeni stays updated on the latest advancements in prosthodontics through continuous education and international conferences. His expertise extends across cosmetic dentistry, joint and muscle disorders, congenital and developmental defects, and sleep apnoea. His primary focus remains on full mouth rehabilitation and dental implants, ensuring patients achieve optimal oral health and aesthetics.
