Dr S Claridge GP Leeds UK plays a vital role in one of the largest student-focused General Practices in the country. Our practice is committed to training the next generation of GPs while providing expert, accessible care to over 44,000 students across Leeds. Consequently, we operate at the intersection of education, innovation, and patient wellbeing.
GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors who have gained years of experience in hospitals. However, they join our practice to develop the specific skills needed for community-based, long-term patient care. For this reason, we provide hands-on training within a supportive, real-world environment.
Moreover, Registrars work alongside experienced GPs and manage their own patient lists under supervision. In addition, they receive regular feedback to refine their consultation and decision-making skills. As a result, they leave with the confidence to provide independent, patient-focused care.
Our practice is staffed by 21 doctors—14 female and 7 male—who bring a range of medical expertise to the team. Furthermore, all our doctors are enthusiastic about working in General Practice, particularly with our student population.
Likewise, our clinicians are committed to patient-centred care, even in a fast-paced setting. Despite high demand, they maintain professionalism, empathy, and accessibility. For this reason, our practice consistently earns trust and appreciation from our patients.
Our practice serves a diverse student population across Leeds’ universities and colleges. Consequently, our services are designed to meet the needs of young adults, including mental health care, contraception, STI testing, and management of long-term conditions.
In addition to our GPs, we have a support team of more than 70 staff members. Moreover, they manage bookings, triage, referrals, and administration, ensuring that all systems run efficiently. Hence, students receive timely and responsive care from start to finish.
Although our patient list is large, we prioritise continuity and quality. In contrast to larger, less personal settings, we offer a holistic, compassionate approach that reflects the needs of today’s students.
