Dr. Mink holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey, USA, and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBCh) from the University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa. Additionally, he attained a Master of Medicine (MMed) from the same institution, and he is a Fellow of the College of Urologists of South Africa (FC Urol SA).
Dr. Mink’s medical journey in South Africa began with surgical and urological training at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital (CMJAH) and Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH). During his time as a registrar at CHBAH, he developed a deep passion for uro-oncology. This passion led him to introduce prostate brachytherapy, which significantly reduced waiting times for prostate cancer patients. As a result, he helped improve access to curative treatments for men in need. Moreover, Dr. Mink contributed to the creation of a digital patient database for prostate cancer, and he continues to chair a multidisciplinary prostate cancer meeting at CHBAH, further highlighting his commitment to advancing patient care.
Dr Shauli Minkowitz Urologist Bryanston has a particular focus on uro-oncology, a field that has been central to his career. He spearheaded initiatives like a prostate cancer database and a monthly collaborative meeting to enhance the management of prostate cancer patients. His ongoing vision is to make robotic prostate surgery accessible to patients in the state sector. In 2023, Dr. Mink began practicing at Mediclinic Sandton, as well as Netcare Waterfall and Sunninghill hospitals. Additionally, Dr. Mink serves as the Director of Prostate Cancer Services at CHBAH and holds an honorary lecturer position at Wits University. Furthermore, he actively participates in the Gauteng Uro-Oncology Forum and holds a board position with the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa. These affiliations allow him to remain at the forefront of urology research and treatment advancements.
