About Us

Clinix Health Group, founded by Dr. Khamane Obed Peter (K O P) Matseke in 1992, has grown significantly. It began with fewer than five employees and one hospital, Clinix Botshelong Empilweni Private Hospital, which opened in 1994. Over the past 20 years, the group has expanded to manage eight hospitals and employs about 2600 people across various healthcare services.

Dr. Matseke’s mission was to provide quality healthcare to underserved communities. He led the formation of Clinix Health Group in response to the healthcare inequalities in South Africa, particularly in disadvantaged areas. Dr. SK Matseke Memorial Private Hospital, initially known as Lesedi Clinic, was renamed in 2016 to honour Dr. Matseke’s contribution to Soweto’s healthcare.
