Prof Khan began his career with an MBBS from India in 1999. He then completed an MD in Psychiatry before moving to the UK. There, he earned the MRCPsych in 2008. Driven by his passion for teaching, he pursued a Master’s in Medical Education in 2013.
His dedication earned him the prestigious FRCPsych in March 2023. Notably, he led a 6-month MDT pilot project in Birmingham. The project received second place in the Board Challenge Awards by BSMHFT. Later, he led similar initiatives in Sandwell. These aimed to reduce antipsychotic use in care homes and promote non-drug-based dementia care.
Prof Khan has worked across several specialties. These include adult, old age, child and adolescent psychiatry, learning disability, and forensic services. As a result, his experience is both diverse and deep.
Additionally, he holds academic titles such as Visiting Professor at the University of Chester. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at Aston Medical School. These roles reflect his commitment to academic growth and knowledge sharing.
Moreover, Prof Khan has authored over 50 articles. Sixteen of them are peer-reviewed and indexed in PubMed. He has led or co-led 14 clinical research projects. These projects covered workplace and academic settings.
He regularly presents at national and international conferences. His work has earned medals, awards, and widespread respect. Furthermore, he serves on the editorial board of a medical journal, influencing academic publishing standards.
