In 1978, Dr. Meyer completed her internship at the Student Counselling Centre at the University of the Free State. Responsibilities included counseling students adjusting to university life, providing therapy for depression, anxiety, and bipolar disorder, enhancing academic performance, and offering career guidance to students and Grade 12 learners.

Dr. Meyer has extensive experience in supporting clients with mood disorders and anxiety. As a founder member and chairperson of Counselling@, she excels in negotiation, networking, and strategic planning.
