Hanna Munro Occupational Therapist Edinburgh provides compassionate, practical support for children and families navigating sensory challenges. I help families understand their child’s sensory needs while improving overall family wellbeing. By explaining sensory experiences clearly, I suggest small, actionable changes at home and school. This approach allows children to engage more in play, learning, and daily life while helping parents feel confident and supported.
I am a gentle, sensitive therapist with over 17 years of experience. Being neurodivergent myself and the mother of two neurodivergent children gives me a unique perspective. One child has significant support needs, and the other struggles with school attendance. Consequently, I understand the daily challenges families face. Moreover, I translate complex sensory information into practical strategies. As a result, children become happier, calmer, and more engaged.
My clinical work focuses on children and young people aged 2 to adult. I specialize in autism, ADHD, and sensory processing difficulties. However, no formal diagnosis is required. Any child presenting sensory difficulties may benefit from my support. Frequently, the children I work with have neurodivergent presentations such as dyspraxia or dyslexia. Additionally, I provide tailored advice packages to suit each child’s needs.
I offer sensory advice and support packages that focus on daily life improvements. I emphasize practical strategies that parents and schools can apply immediately. For instance, small adjustments in routines, play, or learning environments can create significant positive changes. By consistently implementing these strategies, families notice improved engagement, reduced anxiety, and enhanced wellbeing.
I hold an internationally recognized Certificate in Ayres Sensory Integration (CLASI, 2021). I also earned an MSc in Dementia Studies from the University of Stirling (2015) and a BSc in Occupational Therapy from the University of Salford (2007). I am registered with the HCPC (OT51333) and a proud member of the Royal College of Occupational Therapists. These qualifications support my evidence-based, client-focused approach.
Families work with me because I combine professional expertise with personal insight. I use my experience as a parent and a neurodivergent individual to create meaningful support plans. Consequently, families feel understood, supported, and empowered to make small changes that transform their child’s life. With practical strategies, consistent guidance, and compassionate care, I help children reach their potential and families thrive.
