Hannah Fox ENT Surgeon Newcastle offers specialised care in head and neck conditions, combining experience, innovation, and compassion. Based at the Freeman Hospital, she delivers advanced ENT and thyroid surgical care with an emphasis on quality outcomes.
Mrs. Fox leads the Newcastle Head and Neck Cancer multidisciplinary team. She ensures every patient receives personalised, timely, and coordinated care. With a strong focus on teamwork, she collaborates with radiologists and other specialists to achieve the best results.
She handles both benign and malignant thyroid disease. Additionally, she treats a wide range of benign head and neck issues. These include voice problems and throat-related symptoms, which often require detailed diagnosis and care.
Mrs. Fox holds specialist skills in transoral robotic surgery, laryngeal re-innervation, and thyroid surgery. These techniques support faster recovery and better function for patients.
She and her radiology colleagues have also introduced an outpatient thyroid ablation service. This offers a non-invasive alternative to traditional thyroid surgery. For suitable patients, this means shorter recovery and fewer complications.
To support same-day diagnosis, she provides outpatient local anaesthetic procedures. These include transnasal oesophagoscopy, balloon dilation, and laryngeal biopsy. Such services increase efficiency and reduce stress for patients.
In addition to her clinical work, Mrs. Fox is a committed educator. She holds advanced qualifications in teaching and helps train the next generation of surgeons. Her involvement includes roles on both the BAHNO educational committee and the regional Surgical Training Committee.
Through the Newcastle Surgical Training Centre, she runs several hands-on courses. These help junior doctors and senior trainees improve their surgical technique and decision-making.
Mrs. Fox is also passionate about gender equality in medicine. She actively mentors school students, undergraduates, and postgraduate trainees, encouraging women to pursue surgical careers.
Mrs. Fox’s clinical and academic leadership makes her a key figure in ENT and head and neck surgery in the North East. Her work reflects a strong belief in innovation, teamwork, and patient-centered care.
Whether managing complex cancer or mentoring a future surgeon, her approach stays the same: practical, precise, and people-focused.
