Heidi Wang, also known as Handan, is a dedicated Pilates instructor with a rich background in the fitness industry. Her journey with Pilates began after the birth of her child, when she discovered the powerful benefits it offered for physical recovery, strength, and mobility. This personal experience ignited a deep passion for Pilates, leading her to fully embrace its practice and teachings. Today, she brings that same energy and belief into every session, maintaining that Pilates truly is for everyone—regardless of age, fitness level, or experience.
Before moving into Pilates, Heidi spent over five years as a certified personal trainer. She holds a Certificate IV in Fitness and is a National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Corrective Exercise Specialist. In addition, she is a NASM Women’s Fitness Specialist, a qualification that equips her with the skills to support women through various life stages—from postnatal recovery to general wellness and strength training.
Heidi’s integrated approach to teaching sets her apart. She seamlessly combines classical Pilates techniques with corrective exercises and strength training strategies to deliver a well-rounded and effective workout experience. Her focus remains on enhancing physical capability while prioritising safety, form, and long-term health.
Heidi offers a range of Pilates and fitness-focused services tailored to suit individual needs:
Private and Small Group Pilates Sessions: Targeted sessions designed to improve posture, mobility, flexibility, and strength.
Postnatal and Women’s Health Programmes: Specialised classes that support women’s recovery and ongoing health, grounded in her NASM Women’s Fitness training.
Corrective Exercise Programming: For those dealing with chronic pain, postural issues, or recovering from injury, Heidi develops customised sessions that aim to restore functional movement and prevent future injuries.
Fitness Integration: Drawing from her personal training background, Heidi includes strength and conditioning elements within her Pilates sessions to support a holistic approach to well-being.
Whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned mover, Heidi’s classes are structured to meet you where you are and help you progress safely and effectively.
Heidi’s teaching style is both supportive and motivating. Clients can expect thoughtfully planned sessions that are challenging yet accessible, always aligned with individual goals. Her deep understanding of human movement and body mechanics allows her to identify imbalances and develop tailored solutions that enhance performance and prevent discomfort.
Above all, Heidi is passionate about empowering people to move better and feel stronger. Her Pilates practice is built on the belief that consistent, mindful movement has the power to transform both the body and the mind.
Heidi is available for one-on-one or small group sessions and works with a wide demographic—from those recovering from injury to those seeking greater athletic performance. She welcomes all who are ready to explore the benefits of Pilates under expert guidance.
