Helen Hadden Psychodynamic Psychotherapist London offers both psychodynamic psychotherapy and EMDR therapy in a thoughtful, safe, and supportive environment. I work closely with clients experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns. These range from general stress and anxiety to more complex trauma-related issues. I explore both conscious and unconscious patterns that influence behaviour, thought, and emotional responses.
My practice draws from years of experience in diverse mental health settings. These include NHS outpatient and inpatient services, trauma units, and private care. This variety has allowed me to understand individuals from many walks of life. Furthermore, I apply this insight to every therapy session, ensuring a truly personalised approach.
I first started my professional life in marketing. However, I soon discovered a deep calling to mental health. Volunteering as a suicide prevention adviser with Samaritans sparked a new direction. That pivotal experience drove me to retrain as a mental health nurse.
Since then, I have devoted over 18 years to mental health care. During this time, I completed extensive psychodynamic training through the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation. Moreover, I have continued to build on that foundation with breathwork certification and advanced trauma-focused training.
My qualifications reflect my commitment to continuous learning and professional growth. I hold an MA in Foundations of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy from the Tavistock and Portman NHS. Additionally, I earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Child and Adolescent Mental Health from UCL. My clinical qualification in Intercultural Psychodynamic Psychotherapy deepens my sensitivity to diverse cultural backgrounds.
I am also trained to EMDR Level 4, which allows me to provide evidence-based trauma therapy. My BSc (Hons) in Mental Health Nursing grounds my practice in medical and psychological understanding. I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC), the EMDR Association UK, and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).
My psychotherapy services aim to address a variety of emotional and psychological conditions. These include:
Anxiety
Depression
Bereavement
Stress
PTSD (Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder)
Medically Unexplained Symptoms (MUS)
Additionally, I integrate trauma-informed breathwork into therapy for clients who can benefit from somatic approaches. I offer all services in English and Welsh, supporting access and inclusivity.
Choosing a therapist is a highly personal decision. I offer empathy, confidentiality, and a tailored therapeutic experience. My clients receive dedicated attention throughout their journey. Through consistent reflection and insight, I help people rediscover resilience and inner strength.
