Dr. Taunyane and Dr. Hugo work together in association to offer seamless continuity of care. While Dr. Hugo has extensive experience with over 38 years in private practice, Dr. Taunyane brings fresh, dynamic energy to the team. Both orthodontists share a similar approach, ensuring that every patient receives the best possible treatment.

Dr. Hugo, a highly experienced orthodontist, has contributed to the development of innovative orthodontic techniques and published multiple articles. Dr. Taunyane, one of the youngest qualified orthodontists in South Africa, brings a highly motivated and patient-focused approach to her practice.

Orthodontic Treatment Options
At Hugo Orthodontics, we offer a range of treatments tailored to each patient’s unique needs:

• Clear Aligners: We offer Hugo Aligners, Invisalign, and Spark clear aligners. These removable aligners gradually straighten your teeth when worn for 20-22 hours daily. Clear aligners are effective, easy to clean, and ideal for patients seeking a discreet treatment option.

• Conventional Braces: Fixed appliances such as metal, ceramic, or lingual braces can be used to treat a wide range of orthodontic issues. Braces are composed of brackets, archwires, and elastics that move your teeth into the desired position.

• Elastics: Used to correct your bite and align your upper and lower arches, elastics should be worn as prescribed. Consistent wear is essential for achieving the desired results.

• Clear Retainers: These are used after your treatment to help maintain the position of your teeth. They are clear, discreet, and easy to maintain.

Our Orthodontists

• Dr. Andre Hugo: Dr. Hugo qualified as an orthodontist in 1983 and has been a member of SASO for over three decades. He is a pioneer in lingual orthodontics and has contributed significantly to orthodontic education and practice. He also has a keen interest in aligner treatment.

• Dr. Keitumetse Taunyane: Dr. Taunyane qualified as an orthodontist in 2020 and has been a member of SASO since 2016. She graduated in the top three of her class and has a passion for helping patients achieve beautiful smiles.

Appointment Scheduling
Due to high demand, Dr. Hugo’s appointment book can be filled for routine checkups up to 8 weeks in advance, and rescheduling an appointment may lead to a longer wait. However, Dr. Taunyane offers more flexibility in scheduling, making it easier to accommodate last-minute changes or reschedules.

Patients treated by Dr. Taunyane can expect long-term care, as she is set to continue her practice for many years to come, unlike Dr. Hugo, who plans to retire within the next decade.
