Ian Michael Rogerson Consultant Psychiatrist Manchester leads in providing specialist adult mental health services. Qualified in Medicine in 1991 from Liverpool University Medical School, Ian Rogerson has dedicated his career to improving mental health outcomes. Throughout his professional journey, he has worked across various NHS and independent sectors, gaining valuable experience in Psychological Medicine, Community Mental Health Teams, Occupational Health, ADHD, Psycho-oncology, and currently Prison Psychiatry.
Ian specializes in ADHD, PTSD, trauma, and psychological aspects of physical health conditions, including somatic symptom disorders. He also runs a medico-legal practice and offers occupational psychiatry clinics to police forces and emergency services. His comprehensive expertise enables tailored treatment approaches that address each patient’s unique needs.
Dr. Rogerson completed his undergraduate medical training at Liverpool University Medical School in 1991. Later, he advanced his knowledge by undertaking postgraduate training in medical law at Cardiff Law School in 2009 and Medical Education at University College London in 2011. His qualifications include FHEA, MBChB, PGCert, and PGDiploma, which underpin his clinical and educational roles.
Over the years, Ian has held several formal teaching and management positions, such as Undergraduate Tutor, College Tutor, Programme Director, and Director of Medical Education. His teams have earned nominations for prestigious awards, including the Health Service Journal and National Business Awards in 2008, 2010, and 2019. These recognitions highlight his commitment to excellence in mental health care and education.
Outside his professional life, Ian enjoys cycling, sailing, walking his dogs, and attending live music events. He believes maintaining a healthy work-life balance supports his dedication to patient care and continuous professional development.
