Jacques Kerr began his medical training in Newcastle, gaining valuable skills in emergency care. He then moved to Edinburgh to complete basic surgical training. While there, he became a Lecturer in Surgery at Edinburgh University, inspiring future medical professionals. He embraced every opportunity to refine his surgical techniques and clinical decision-making skills.
Following his work in Edinburgh, Jacques Kerr pursued further surgical training in Glasgow. This stage expanded his ability to manage critical cases with precision. He worked closely with teams to optimise patient outcomes and streamline treatment plans. These experiences strengthened his commitment to high-quality emergency medicine.
Jacques Kerr Consultant Emergency Medicine Newcastle continued to advance his career through higher specialist training. He trained in the South-East Scotland Rotation, based mainly at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. During this period, he handled a wide range of emergency cases. He developed advanced strategies for patient assessment and rapid intervention.
Today, Jacques Kerr divides his time between the Borders General Hospital and the RVI’s Great North Trauma and Emergency Centre. At the Borders General Hospital, he serves as the Emergency Medicine Clinical Lead. This role allows him to implement innovative approaches to patient safety and emergency care. His work at the RVI ensures that patients receive timely, coordinated, and expert treatment during critical moments.
