Jade Cohen, a passionate physiotherapist, graduated cum laude with a BSc in Physiotherapy (Honours) from the University of the Witwatersrand. She began her career during community service at Discoverers Clinic in Johannesburg, gaining valuable experience in managing various conditions. Additionally, she delivered health talks and conducted home visits, which expanded her skill set.
Following this, Jade refined her expertise in orthopaedic rehabilitation at Alta Smits Physiotherapists, focusing on post-operative care for upper limb surgeries. Her journey continued at Gray Physiotherapists and Associates, where she further developed her skills in medical chest physiotherapy, mobilisation, and strengthening. She also instructed Pilates and ran classes aimed at improving strength, balance, and endurance in elderly patients.
Jade now operates her own practice in Sea Point, where she focuses on treating orthopaedic, neuromusculoskeletal, and vestibular disorders. She offers home visits for patients with chest conditions and provides private or small-group Pilates sessions. Jade’s passion for personalised care drives her to offer innovative therapies, ensuring each patient receives the best possible treatment.
She has completed postgraduate courses in Dry Needling, Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy, Temporomandibular Joint (jaw) treatments, and will pursue a Vestibular Rehabilitation course in June 2026. Through ongoing learning and collaboration with expert colleagues, Jade continues to expand her expertise.
Outside of her professional life, Jade enjoys spending time with her family, playing action soccer, tennis, hiking, and cooking.
At Jade Cohen Physiotherapy, we offer a wide range of services tailored to individual needs. Each treatment plan is customised to ensure the best possible recovery and wellness for our patients.
Jade provides treatment for Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) disorders, which can cause pain or dysfunction in the jaw. These treatments aim to alleviate discomfort and restore jaw function.
For patients dealing with vertigo, dizziness, or balance problems, Jade offers vestibular rehabilitation. This therapy retrains the brain and improves balance, promoting stability and reducing discomfort.
Chest physiotherapy helps patients with respiratory conditions, using techniques to clear mucus and improve lung function. This treatment is particularly beneficial for those with chronic respiratory conditions or post-surgery.
Jade treats musculoskeletal conditions, including joint pain, muscle strains, and post-surgical recovery. She uses various techniques to reduce pain, restore function, and improve mobility.
Jade offers Pilates sessions privately or in small groups, focusing on core strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. These sessions serve as both a rehabilitation tool and a general wellness programme.
Training is available for caregivers who assist individuals with physical or health challenges. This service teaches practical techniques to support mobility, exercise, and daily tasks.
For employees, Jade provides corporate physiotherapy visits. These sessions focus on injury prevention, improving posture, and reducing discomfort caused by repetitive tasks or poor ergonomics.
Jade offers home visits for patients who cannot attend the practice in person. This service is especially helpful for those recovering from surgery, managing respiratory conditions, or in need of ongoing rehabilitation.
Jade Cohen Physiotherapy prioritises personalised, evidence-based care. Jade listens actively to each patient’s concerns, tailoring treatment plans to support recovery and overall well-being. Whether dealing with chronic pain, recovering from surgery, or improving physical fitness, Jade ensures every patient receives the best care possible.
