About Janet Altmann
Janet Altmann is a highly experienced physiotherapist with an extensive background in orthopaedic rehabilitation, sports injuries, and biomechanics.
She graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Stellenbosch University in 1996 and has since worked internationally in the UK and New Zealand, treating patients in hospital, outpatient, and sports clinic settings. Her experience includes:
- Three years in Bedford, UK, working in both inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic care.
- Five years in Christchurch, New Zealand, where she worked at a multidisciplinary sports medicine clinic and travelled as the team physiotherapist for the Canterbury provincial netball team.
- Postgraduate Diploma in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy from Auckland University of Technology.
- MSc in Physiotherapy (2010), with research focused on neck and shoulder pain in nurses.
- Lecturer at Stellenbosch University (2008–2011), contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy programmes.
- Experience at the Sports Science Institute of South Africa, working with athletes and sports rehabilitation.
