Tailored Therapy for Emotional Health

Every client brings a different set of circumstances. After an initial assessment session, I develop a therapy plan specifically designed for your personal experiences and goals. My practice integrates several evidence-based approaches, including:

  • EMDR Therapy (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing)

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Compassion-Focused Therapy

  • Somatic Techniques for stress reduction

These approaches allow for a dynamic and flexible response to both short-term issues and long-standing difficulties.

What is EMDR Therapy?

EMDR is a structured psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the emotional distress linked to disturbing life experiences. It’s particularly effective for trauma, including PTSD and complex PTSD. This method uses bilateral stimulation, such as guided eye movements, to help the brain reprocess traumatic memories. Over time, this allows the individual to integrate the memories in a healthier way, often reducing the intensity of distressing emotions and unhelpful beliefs.

Beyond trauma, EMDR has also shown positive results for depression, anxiety disorders, low self-esteem, and other emotional challenges. It is recognised by organisations such as the EMDR Association UK for its clinical efficacy.

Support for Physical Health Challenges

Mental and physical health are closely linked. My work recognises this connection, offering therapy that considers both aspects of wellbeing. I have extensive NHS experience supporting individuals facing:

  • Chronic pain

  • Cancer diagnoses

  • Chronic fatigue

  • Skin conditions

Psychological therapy can significantly improve quality of life by reducing distress, improving symptom management, and enhancing one’s sense of control and resilience.
