Jodie Smethem Integrative Therapist Sussex provides personalised and caring support focused on your unique needs. She works one-on-one with both inpatients and outpatients at the Priory. Every therapy session centers on the client’s individual experience and goals. Furthermore, Jodie offers face-to-face sessions, online therapy, and group sessions that encourage connection and healing.
In addition, she uses integrative therapy techniques that blend different methods. This helps clients find what works best for them. She also works closely with the psychiatry team to plan the best care possible. Together, they ensure every client receives full support.
Jodie uses an integrative approach, which means she combines different therapy methods. As a result, she can adjust her style to meet each client’s needs. Whether you meet her in person or online, her goal is to help you build emotional strength and lasting change. Moreover, she carefully listens to your story before choosing the right therapy tools.
Jodie is a fully accredited integrative psychotherapist with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). She has also trained in transactional analysis (TA). Beyond this, she continually improves her skills through ongoing training.
Her certificates include:
Interpersonal Neurobiology and Polyvagal Theory
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT)
Personality Disorders
These qualifications allow her to offer varied and up-to-date care. Also, this means she can tailor her sessions to what you need most.
Currently, Jodie studies the effects of hormone changes during menopause. This includes peri-menopause, post-menopause, early onset, and medically induced menopause. She focuses on how these changes affect the mental health of women, trans people, and their families. In fact, she is preparing a research proposal to explore this area further.
Because of this, Jodie not only supports her clients but also aims to improve understanding of menopause and mental health in the wider community.
Jodie holds these diplomas:
PGDip in Counselling
PGDip in Psychotherapy
These diplomas show her solid academic background and clinical skills.
Clients appreciate Jodie’s warm and caring approach. Additionally, she uses proven therapy methods to help clients heal and grow. When you choose Jodie, you work with someone who truly listens and adapts to your needs. In short, she walks alongside you on your journey toward better mental health.
