Joseph Palmer CBT Therapist Manchester offers compassionate, goal-focused therapy for a wide range of mental health conditions. I combine evidence-based techniques with a friendly, professional approach. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or other challenges, we’ll work together to create real, lasting change.
I bring over seven years of hands-on experience in the mental health field. I began my journey as a teaching assistant and support worker, roles that grounded me in understanding the day-to-day struggles many people face. Eventually, I transitioned into therapy, offering both group and one-to-one cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT).
Over the years, I’ve worked with various mental health charities, helping individuals manage conditions such as anxiety, depression, addiction, and eating disorders. These experiences shaped my belief in the power of structured, collaborative therapy.
My educational background includes a BSc in Neuropsychology and a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) in Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapy from the University of Central Lancashire. I am also an accredited member of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
This academic foundation allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs. Furthermore, my training never stops. I regularly complete CPD courses, including those on panic disorder, OCD, and dual diagnosis, to ensure you receive the most current and effective treatment.
I offer a welcoming, supportive space where we can explore your challenges without judgment. Through structured sessions, I help clients tackle a range of mental health concerns using evidence-based CBT techniques.
My services address a broad range of conditions, including but not limited to:
Anxiety
Depression
OCD
PTSD

Every session aims to help you move forward. Whether the issue is long-standing or newly emerged, I’ll work with you to define clear goals and achieve measurable progress.
From the first session, we will establish a safe and trusting therapeutic environment. We’ll identify your goals and begin working on practical strategies to manage thoughts and behaviours. While therapy can sometimes be challenging, my approach always remains collaborative, empathetic, and forward-focused.
You’ll never feel rushed. We progress at your pace, using a flexible, evidence-based model that prioritizes your well-being.
