Kaisha Holmes Counsellor Bradford offers effective therapeutic support to individuals of all ages, including children aged 6 and above. My aim is to provide a safe, confidential space where clients can prioritize their well-being. I help individuals work through emotional struggles without judgment, fostering growth and healing.
As a counsellor in Bradford, I work with a client-led approach. This means that the sessions are driven by your needs and goals. Together, we will explore your concerns, focusing on what you feel is important. Whether you want to address past experiences, current issues, or relationship struggles, my goal is to tailor the sessions to you. The aim is to ensure that you feel understood and supported every step of the way.
I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, such as emotion cards, to guide our discussions and help you understand your emotions better. Each session offers a chance for reflection, emotional processing, and gaining new perspectives. This approach helps you move forward in a way that feels right for you.
I provide counselling for a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including:
Anxiety
Behavioral difficulties
Bereavement and loss
Depression and low mood
Family issues
LGBTQ+ challenges
Low self-esteem
Neurodivergent difficulties
Relationship and friendship concerns
School or work-related difficulties
Self-harm
Stress
Suicidal thoughts or ideation
Trauma
Whatever difficulties you are facing, I am here to help you navigate them. We will explore your challenges together and work towards meaningful solutions.
For young clients, I offer a variety of creative techniques, such as drawing, painting, and sand tray therapy, to help them express their emotions. I understand that talking about feelings can be tough, so I encourage a non-judgmental approach. My aim is to ensure that every young person feels heard, understood, and supported.
In addition to creative techniques, I also work on building a trusting relationship where we can openly discuss concerns. Confidentiality is paramount, though if safety is a concern, I may need to involve others to ensure well-being.
I have extensive experience supporting young people in schools across the Leeds Bradford area. I’ve worked with children aged 6-16 who face significant emotional and behavioral challenges. I have also worked with organizations like North Point and Place2Be, providing counselling in alternative settings for students unable to thrive in mainstream education.
I hold a BSc in Psychology from the University of East Anglia and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy from Leeds Beckett University. Additionally, I have a Level 4 Certificate in Counselling Children from Place2Be. I am also pursuing ongoing education, including a certification in Trauma Informed Schools UK and an Advanced Practitioner Certificate in Parent-Child Therapy.
