Karen Croft Counsellor Kent offers expert care to adults facing anxiety, depression, and trauma. She has worked at Priory since May 2021. She supports clients who have experienced difficult or traumatic childhoods, including sexual, physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. As an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), Karen follows a strict ethical framework. She commits to continuous professional development and clinical supervision to ensure safe and effective therapy.
Karen provides a safe, contained, and compassionate environment for clients to explore important aspects of their lives. She encourages awareness of the inner world, helping clients understand how their past shapes their present. Karen supports change through creative methods such as Gestalt experiments, including dreamwork and chairwork. Clients can bring any creative tools they wish to their sessions. As awareness grows, openness to change may increase—yet every client’s needs remain unique and central to their therapy.
Karen holds a Diploma in Counselling from The Gestalt Centre in London. She completed advanced EMDR training (Stages 1, 2, and 3) with Richman EMDR Training. Additionally, Karen studied The Flash Technique, trauma principles, systemic thinking, and various therapy essentials, including DBT, Compassion Focussed Therapy, and Solution Focussed Thinking. She holds both a BA and MA and volunteered for 18 months in an acute psychiatric ward. This diverse training enables Karen to provide effective mental health treatment tailored to individual needs.
Karen supports clients dealing with anxiety, depression, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her therapeutic approach always centers on ethical, compassionate care designed to meet each person where they are. Karen’s services focus on mental health treatment that empowers clients to understand themselves and make meaningful changes in their lives.
