Clinical Psychologist Slough
- Slough, UK
I am Kyli Benadie-Chowles, a Clinical Psychologist based in Lynnwood Glen, and my approach to therapy is rooted in a postmodern framework, which focuses on the unique ability of individuals to recreate themselves, their environments, and their lives. This enables me to meet you exactly where you are and support you in moving forward. I use a variety of psychotherapeutic techniques, tailored to your needs, to foster balance and well-being in your life. It’s not about focusing solely on your pain or diagnosis but about living your best life, regardless of your circumstances.
My therapeutic expertise includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Narrative Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Interventions, Hypnosis, and Somatic Therapy. I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults, and I look forward to helping you create and re-create the life you desire.
Additionally, I offer psychological assessments in neuropsychological, psycho-legal (forensic), and diagnostic settings. While I specialise in one-on-one therapy, I also focus on identifying problems, conditions, and behaviours through thorough assessment.
I value the opportunity to work with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, as it broadens my perspectives and enriches the research I contribute to in the field of psychology. I am fluent in Afrikaans and English and am also learning Setswana to better serve my community.
Having worked in both psychiatric and medical facilities, I am comfortable working with people of all ages, whether they are in inpatient or outpatient settings. My clinical experience allows me to assist in various therapeutic areas, including neuropsychological, psycho-legal (forensic), and diagnostic assessments.
I have earned the following qualifications:
M.Sc. Clinical Psychology from Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University
BSocSci Honours in Psychology from The University of Pretoria
B.Sc. Health Sciences (Physiology and Psychology) from The North West University of Potchefstroom
In addition to my degrees, I have completed several specialised short courses:
Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) from Stellenbosch University
Research skills workshops (Grounded Theory, Statistical Analysis in Quantitative Research) from UNISA

Modern Hypnosis Certification from The South African Modern Hypnosis Academy
Clinical Herbalism and Nutrition Screening Treatment Protocols from Synergetica
Advanced Dyslexia Workshop from GoFocus
I offer a broad range of therapeutic and assessment services designed to address various psychological concerns and conditions.
Medical psychology focuses on excess disability, where a person suffers more than what is indicated by their physical illness, disease, or injury. I provide psychotherapeutic care for individuals dealing with:
Survivors of severe burns
Survivors of spinal injuries
Individuals undergoing cancer treatment
In-hospital suicide risk assessments and treatment planning
I work with children, adolescents, and adults to help address a wide range of emotional and behavioural issues. Some of my specialised experience includes:
Reclaiming agency in adults facing personality disturbances, anxiety, and mood disorders
Sand-tray therapy and play therapy for traumatised children
Helping adolescents navigate emotional and behavioural disturbances while searching for their identity
Family therapy is an essential aspect of my practice. I assist families in restoring balance after trauma, particularly when dealing with mental illness, chronic conditions, or terminal illness within the family. Family sessions play a vital role in emotional healing, as our relationships significantly impact our mental health. I encourage family-based therapy, as it fosters mutual growth and development within the family unit.
Group therapy offers an interpersonal, creative, and cost-effective way to receive psychotherapy while promoting emotional development. It is available subject to interest and participant availability. Keep updated on available groups through my Facebook page for more details.
I provide a variety of assessments for both clinical and legal purposes, including:
Forensic assessments for traumatised children, co-parenting disputes, and primary placement and residency of children
Neuropsychological assessments and screenings for traumatic brain injury, dementia, perceptual disturbances, and intellectual disability, as well as recommendations for special school placements
With my extensive experience and qualifications, I am well-equipped to help you navigate through the challenges you face. Whether you’re seeking individual therapy, family therapy, psychological assessments, or forensic assessments, I am committed to providing you with a tailored approach that meets your unique needs.
