Clinical Psychologist Slough
- Slough, UK
Welcome! I’m Kyli Benadie-Chowles, a registered clinical psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I offer therapy and psychological assessments to children, adolescents, and adults, helping individuals find balance and well-being in their daily lives.
Mental health plays a crucial role in how we think, communicate, and form relationships. Anxiety, depression, and other challenges often prevent people from reaching their full potential. My approach goes beyond labels and diagnoses—I focus on helping you live your best life, regardless of the difficulties you face.
I work in both English and Afrikaans, and I am also learning Setswana. With experience in psychiatric and medical settings, I am comfortable working with diverse individuals from different backgrounds. My work is guided by the belief that every person has the ability to recreate their life and environment.
For updates about my practice, follow me on social media. To book a session or enquire about assessments, feel free to contact me via email or WhatsApp. Please note that these platforms are for scheduling purposes only and do not serve as a means for therapeutic intervention.
I adopt a postmodern approach, focusing on an individual’s ability to reshape their life and circumstances. Every person is unique, and I tailor my therapeutic techniques to meet your specific needs. My training includes:
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) – Helping individuals change negative thought patterns.
Psychodynamic Psychotherapy – Exploring past experiences and their impact on present behaviour.
Narrative Therapy – Empowering individuals to reframe their personal stories.
Mindfulness-Based Interventions – Developing awareness and reducing stress.
Hypnosis and Somatic Therapy – Integrating mind and body for deeper healing.
In addition to therapy, I conduct psychological assessments in neuropsychological, psycho-legal (forensic), and diagnostic settings. While therapy focuses on treatment, assessments help identify specific conditions and behavioural patterns.
I provide therapy for children, adolescents, and adults, helping individuals navigate emotional challenges and develop healthier coping strategies. My areas of expertise include:
Anxiety, depression, and mood disorders
Trauma recovery
Identity exploration in adolescents
Play therapy and sand-tray therapy for children
Mental health does not exist in isolation. Family and group therapy provide supportive spaces for healing and growth. I assist families dealing with:
The impact of chronic or terminal illness
Mental health struggles within the family unit
Relationship and communication difficulties
Group therapy offers a collaborative and cost-effective way to explore emotions, develop interpersonal skills, and find support among peers. Availability depends on interest and group composition.
I work with individuals experiencing emotional distress due to medical conditions, including:
Survivors of severe burns
Individuals recovering from spinal injuries
Patients undergoing cancer treatment
In-hospital suicide risk assessments and treatment planning
I conduct assessments for:
Neuropsychological conditions, including traumatic brain injury and dementia
Forensic and psycho-legal cases, such as custody disputes and trauma assessments
Special school placement recommendations and intellectual disability evaluations
I am passionate about continuous learning and have completed various professional development courses, including:
Mindfulness-Based Interventions (MBIs) – Stellenbosch University
Advanced Dyslexia Workshop – GoFocus
Modern Hypnosis Practitioner Certification – South African Modern Hypnosis Academy
Clinical Herbalism and Nutrition Screening – Synergetica
With a background in research and a commitment to improving psychological care, I aim to provide therapy and assessments that genuinely make a difference in people’s lives.
