Lara graduated from U.C.T. with an undergraduate degree in 1996 ( B.Soc.Sci). She went on to complete her Honours (Cum Laude) and Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from Stellenbosch University In 1998. After living and working in the United Kingdom for a year she returned to South Africa to settle in the Tableview and Blouberg area in Cape Town. She is currently practicing at Crescent Clinic in Claremont/Kenilworth and Atlantic Beach Golf Estate in Melkbosstrand. Since 1999 she has been in private practice and her special areas of Interest include:

• emotional and intellectual assessments of children and adolescents
• play therapy
• school readiness assessments
• parent guidance
• managing life changes/adjustments or trauma with adults/ adolescents/ children
• anxiety and depression in adults/ adolescents/ children
• self-growth and development in adults
