Professional Social Work Services

About Me

I am a registered social worker with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP – Reg No. 10-38093) and have been practising since 2015. My experience spans various areas of social work, including child protection, homelessness, trauma counselling, substance use, and mental health support.

I began my career as an early intervention social worker in child protection, where I gained extensive knowledge of the Children’s Act, children’s court proceedings, and legal frameworks related to temporary safe care and foster care. Following the birth of my first son, I transitioned to part-time work with a newly registered non-profit organisation supporting homeless individuals. Over a five-year period, as the organisation grew, my role evolved from social worker to operations manager and programme coordinator. My responsibilities included individual case work, group facilitation, trauma counselling, and developing a deep understanding of substance use and mental health challenges.

As a mother of two boys, my interest in developmental psychology and attachment theory has deepened. I have developed a strong understanding of non-punitive and responsive parenting styles, which informs my approach to working with families and individuals.
