At Leonie Coles Counselling, compassion meets professionalism to support individuals and couples through life’s most difficult emotional challenges. Based in Pulborough, I offer private counselling tailored to each client’s personal experience. With a background in family law, I bring both empathy and insight to every session, helping clients feel seen, heard and respected.
I retrained as a counsellor after a career as a Family Solicitor and Family Mediator, specialising in legal aid cases involving divorce, child contact arrangements, and domestic violence. These roles required a calm and empathetic approach—skills that now enrich my therapeutic practice. I believe that everyone deserves to be supported with fairness and dignity, especially in their most vulnerable moments.
My goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can work through emotional pain, confusion, or relationship struggles. Whether you are navigating personal trauma or seeking clarity in your life, counselling offers a powerful route to growth and healing.
I offer one-to-one therapy for those experiencing:
Anxiety, depression or low mood
Loss and grief
Trauma or abuse
Low self-esteem
Life transitions or personal crises
Sessions are client-led and paced according to your needs. My approach blends sensitivity with structure, allowing you to feel supported while exploring complex emotions.
Relationships can face pressure for many reasons. Through joint sessions, I help couples:
Improve communication
Rebuild trust
Navigate conflict in healthier ways
Reconnect emotionally
My experience as both a counsellor and family mediator allows me to offer balanced, fair guidance—ensuring both partners feel heard.
In addition to private practice, I have worked in various counselling roles:
School Counsellor, supporting children and teenagers through emotional challenges such as bullying, anxiety and academic stress.
Domestic Violence Refuge Counsellor, working with both male and female survivors at times of extreme upheaval.
Carers Support Charity Counsellor, offering emotional relief for unpaid carers struggling with burnout and isolation.
These diverse experiences allow me to offer a wide-ranging and adaptable therapeutic style, always rooted in empathy and understanding.
I currently run my private counselling practice in Pulborough, offering a confidential and comfortable space for therapy. Sessions are available for individuals and couples, and I also offer remote sessions online or by phone where preferred.
Whatever you are facing, I aim to walk alongside you as you explore your thoughts, rebuild your emotional strength, and find clarity.
