Lubna Karim Consultant Psychiatrist London offers expert, evidence-based mental health care for children, adolescents, and their families. Dr Karim provides personalised support that considers emotional, physical, and mental wellbeing. She builds strong therapeutic relationships, ensuring young people feel heard and safe throughout their journey.
Her holistic and collaborative approach delivers compassionate treatment that empowers both the individual and their family. Since Dr Karim is a medically qualified doctor, she can diagnose psychiatric conditions and prescribe medications when needed.
Dr Karim has a strong clinical interest in neurodevelopmental conditions. She offers detailed assessments and accurate diagnoses for autism spectrum conditions and ADHD. In her neurodevelopmental clinic, she works with children and adolescents aged 6 to 18 years, helping families understand and manage these complex conditions with clarity and confidence.
In her general psychiatry clinic, she supports young people aged 9 to 18 who may be facing depression, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, or other mental health concerns.
Since joining Priory Hospital Roehampton in 2021, Dr Karim has brought her expertise to a team of leading professionals. She also works within the NHS CAMHS in Guildford, Surrey. Dr Karim trained at Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’s Medical School at the University of London, earning the prestigious Barber’s Academic Scholarship. She completed her core psychiatry training at the Royal Free and University College Hospitals, and advanced to specialist training in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in South West London and Surrey.
Her academic achievements and clinical experience provide a robust foundation for her private and NHS roles.
Throughout her career, Dr Karim has contributed to clinical research and service improvement through audits. She founded the CAMHS Academic Program in 2020 to support ongoing learning for Consultant Psychiatrists. In addition, she has lectured and examined for University College London Medical School in child and adolescent psychiatry.
